Day 1

|
Beijing: Met on arrival at either the airport or train station and transferred to your hotel. Free time for the rest of the day. Overnight hotel.

Day 2
|
|
Beijing: A full day excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, perhaps China’s most famous landmark. After lunch, a drive to the Ming Tombs along the Sacred Way lined with giant marble figures and animals guarding the tomb area for deceased Emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644AD). A delicious Beijing duck dinner in the evening and overnight hotel.

Day 3
|
|
Beijing: After breakfast a full day private tour to the Temple of Heaven Tianmen, Square and Forbidden City (lunch included). Late afternoon transfer to the station for an early evening departure by overnight train to Xian in comfortable soft sleeper class.

Day 4 |
|
Xian: Early morning arrival in Xian, the eastern end of the fabled Silk Road. Transfer to your hotel and breakfast before starting a full day tour to the Terra-cotta warriors and a city tour including the city walls. You will also visit the Wild Goose Pagoda built in 652 AD containing a large volume of Buddhist scriptures which were obtained from India by the eminent monk Xuanzang. Free time in the evening to explore the city perhaps eating in the Muslim quarter. Overnight hotel.

Day 5 |
|
Hangzhou: After breakfast a transfer to the airport for a flight to Hangzhou. Mid-morning arrival in Hangzhou with transfer to your hotel and then a half day tour of the area around the famed West Lake. Free overnight hotel.

Day 6 |
|
Hangzhou to Suzhou: After breakfast you will continue your journey by car to Suzhou with a tour on arrival visiting the Humble Administrator 's Garden and the Lingering Garden and including lunch. Free time and overnight in a hotel in Suzhou.

Day 7 |
|
Suzhou to Shanghai to Beijing: After breakfast you will have a transfer to the station to take the express train to Shanghai. You will be met on arrival in Shanghai with a half day tour including the YuYuan Gardens, the Bund and Old City before an early evening transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Beijing. On arrival in Beijing you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
