   China Garden Tour | Day by Day Itinerary and Inclusions
 
 
Day 1: Arrival Beijing
Welcome to Beijing! We will be meeting you at the airport from where you will be transferred by private car and English speaking guide to your hotel. Assisstance with checking in and time to ask you guide any initial questions you might have. Free time for the rest of the day to relax from the flight or start to explore the city with the help of your personalised Trip Guidebook we send you before the trip. Overnight hotel.

Day 2: Beijing
After breakfast start a full day excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, perhaps China’s most famous landmark. After visiting the Wall drive back to the city to visit Prince Gong’s Palace and it’s stunning gardens. In the evening a delicious Peking Duck dinner to satisfy the appetite you will have built up today. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 3: Beijing
Today you will have a private tour of some of Beijing’s immaculately kept parks and gardens - all fine examples of Northern Chinese garden design. Starting with Behai and Jingshan park both of which offer wonderful views of the city in addition to their beautifully kept gardens. After lunch visit the Summer Palace, former playground of the Emperors which is a wonderful mix of pavilions and gardens dominated by the huge lake. Free time in the evening and overnight hotel.

Day 4: Beijing to Chengde
An early start this morning to catch the train for the 4 hour journey to Chengde, location of the Qing Dynasty’s Imperial Summer Resort. Transfer on arrival to your hotel before lunch and a private tour of the extensive grounds of the Summer Palace and the distinctive Hammer Peak. Free time in the evening and overnight hotel.

Day 5: Chengde to Beijing
After breakfast visit the Temple of Putuozongcheng and the  Puning Si Temple. Overnight hotel. After lunch transfer back to the station for the afternoon train back to Beijing with a transfer to your hotel, free time and overnight.

Day 6: Beijing to Xian
After breakfast a half day private tour of the vast Tiananmen Square as well as the Forbidden City. In the afternoon a transfer to the airport for a flight to Xian, Eastern end of the fabled Silk Road. Transfer on arrival to your hotel, free time and overnight.

Day 7: Xian
After breakfast start a full day tour to the Terra-cotta warriors and a city tour including the city walls. You will also visit the Wild Goose Pagoda built in 652 AD containing a large volume of Buddhist scriptures which were obtained from India by the eminent monk Xuanzang. In the evening a warming dumpling dinner banquet before returning to the hotel to overnight.

Day 8: Xian to Shanghai
After breakfast a transfer to the airport for a flight to Shanghai with a transfer on arrival to your hotel with time to relax before lunch. A private afternoon tour of the Yuyuan Garden, Old Shanghai and a stroll along the lively waterfront, known as the "Bund". Round off the day with a visit the world famous Chinese Acrobats before a transfer back to your hotel to overnight.

Day 9: Shanghai to Suzhou
A free morning to relax or take advantage of the excellent shopping opportunities Shanghai offers before a transfer to the station for a bullet train to Suzhou, famous for its classical gardens and canals. Transfer to your hotel on arrival, free time and overnight.

Day 10: Suzhou
Today you will have a full day private tour to some of Suzhou’s finest gardens including the Humble Administrators Garden, the Rock Lion Garden, the Lingering Garden and the Garden of the Master of Nets. Free evening and overnight hotel.

Day 11: Suzhou to Hangzhou
Continue your tour of Suzhou visiting the Tiger Hill and a boat trip on the Grand Canal as well as a visit to the Embroidery Institute where the famous silk of Suzhou is used to create exquisite creations. Late afternoon transfer to the station for a train to Hangzhou with a late evening arrival, transfer to your hotel and overnight.

Day 12: Hangzhou
After breakfast a full day tour of the West Lake and it’s many temples and gardens. Free time in the evening and overnight hotel.

Day 13: Hangzhou to Guangzhou
In the morning continue your tour of Hangzhou visiting the Lingyin Temple and a tea planation before a transfer to the airport for a flight to Guangzhou. Transfer on arrival there to your hotel, free time and overnight.

Day 14: Guangzhou
A full day private tour to the Baomoyuan Garden, Yuyinshanfang Garden as well as the Chen Family Temple. An evening boat trip with dinner on the Pearl River rounds off your day. Return to the hotel to overnight.

Day 15: Guangzhou to Hong Kong
A morning tour to the Orchid Garden and the Botanical Garden of South China before catching the Jetfoil service to Hong Kong. End of services on arrival in Hong Kong or start our Hong Kong add-on.
