Planning - Visas Required
The Chinese Visa
Everyone requires a Chinese visa but the good news is that it is easy to obtain although you should allow plenty of advance planning. Note the following points:
• Normally visas are issued for 30 day stays in China. Do NOT overstay this as fines are steep.
• One visa extension of a further 30 days can be obtained once inside China.
• You need one fully blank page and minimum 6 months validity of your passport.
• Allow plenty of time to obtain the visas in order to avoid last minute panics and embassy express fees!
How to Obtain the Chinese Visa
There are several ways a Chinese visa can be obtained:
• Through us and our visa partners at Travcour. Once we have your trip dates finalised we will send you detailed instructions regarding sending your passport and application forms to our visa partners for processing. Note that this service is only available for UK residents.
• Through the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) based in London and Manchester. This is the official visa service of the Chinese embassy and offers a postal visa service. More information can be found on there website here. We can provide the supporting paperwork you may need.
• Apply yourselves directly with CVASC or through a visa agent of our choice. We can provide the supporting paperwork you may need.
The Tibet Travel permit
