About Our Style

Despite 5,000 years of unbroken civilisation, in modern times China is still a relatively new destination for travellers having been closed until the early 1980's to all but a chosen few.

Up until recently there have only been two ways to see China - by finding your own way as a backpacker or by joining a rigid “follow the flag” group tour.

We feel that the way to get the most out of this sometimes challenging destination is to find a balance between these two extremes. To do this we developed our China Self-Guided Adventures which aim to strike the right balance between organisation and comfort while still giving the traveller a sense of discovery and adventure.

Our China Small Group Tours are designed in such a way as to allow you a degree of freedom to experience China under your own steam with the comfort and security of like-minded companions.
